Lake Lowell Comprehensive Planning Bulletin

This is concerning future plans at Lake Lowell.  Unless we add our comments about Lake Lowell they will never know what is on our minds about the lake.  It only takes a couple minutes to read and fill out.  Went to the meeting at Deer Flat Refuge only a couple fishermen showed up to hear what the Fish & Wildlife had to say.  This is important not only to us but our kids & grandkids.  If you know someone that would help us please forward these documents to them.  Thanks !
Call Jennifer Brown (208 467-9278)at the refuge if you have any questions.

Special Bulletin
PREMIER BASS TOURNAMENTS 2010

Cathy and I would like to thank all those supporters and sponsors of Premier Bass for the past   12 years.  Our sponsors and anglers are very important to us.  We have always heard from you that you liked our tournaments and our professional staff: Jim & Margaret Thornock, Candie & Jim Ogstad, Georgia Meyer, Fred Kwyzla, Clint & Andi Duesterbeck.  Also past staff members: Val & Frank Johnson, Karen Bottoms & Vickie Patterson.   Also we would like to give a special thanks to Howard Davis of Howard’s Tackle Shoppe in Nampa, Idaho.  He shows up at each tournament to volunteer his time with weigh-ins and tear down of the stage.   Our 2010 Sponsors Big O Tires (Tim Sawin) Boise, Idaho, Tri State Marine Nampa, Idaho and Howard’s Tackle Shoppe Nampa, Idaho.   I would like to encourage all bass fishermen to support these businesses who sponsored Premier Bass all these past 12 years.   Without their support our sport would suffer.  With the economy being sluggish your business means a lot to them.  They also have donated product and cash prizes to other clubs and state federations here in Idaho.
Over the past 12 years Premier Bass has paid out over $550,000.00 in cash prizes.   Our tournament anglers are one of the best in Idaho and Oregon.   Our memberships have numbered over 1100 anglers.    But without the support of my wife Cathy this circuit would not run smooth.  She was always behind the scenes organizing entries, doing leader board and calculating angler payouts.
On July 10, 2010 we will be having our tournament at Lake Lowell at Caldwell, Idaho.   This will be our last tournament of the year for Premier Bass.  Due to current economic conditions and number of anglers, we have decided to retire Premier Bass Tournaments.   It’s been great seeing all of our friends these past 12 years and we wish all of you the best.  We will still be around and look forward to seeing all you at other events here in Idaho and Oregon.

2010 Premier Bass

Premier Bass would like to thank those anglers who fished in 2009. We would also like to thank those sponsors who have helped us for over 10 years. Denton and Delane Crofts were our 2009 TEAM ANGLERS OF THE YEAR, congratulations to both of them. Over $50,000.00 was paid out for the year. Cascade Reservoir was a new lake added to our schedule last year. It provided some great fishing for anglers. The populations of Smallmouth Bass and Largemouth Bass have increased in size and numbers. For those anglers looking for new places to go, try Cascade Lake and you may be surprised to find out how good the fishing is.

Big O Tires (Tim Sawin) provided a great barbecue for anglers and staff at our championship at Lake Owyhee. Josh Polfer and Bruce Calhoun won the championship at Lake Owyhee. Our weigh crew is one of the best and we would like to thank: Jim and Margaret Thornock, Candie Ogstad, Georgia Meyers, Howard Davis, Fred Kwyzla, Clint and Andi Duesterbeck. Their help and dedication makes our tournaments run smooth.

Six lakes were on our 2009 tournament program. For 2010 we have made changes to our format. Last year we had dedicated team tournaments. You paid a membership fee and if you wanted an alternate you would pay for that also. This year we have decided to have 4 open tournaments instead of the 6 from last year. NO membership will be needed in 2010. So you can fish with a different partner at each tournament. There will be no championship at the end of the year. Also no newsletters will be sent out. You will find that information on our web page. Also included in your entry fee is a $10.00 fee for insurance for our tournaments.

Some changes to rules for 2010. Added is the 15 minute rule about weigh in. When the last team has weighed in, there will be a 15 minute period where we give an opportunity for teams to bring in their fish to be weighed in. We will check ramps for teams having trouble getting to weigh in due to traffic at ramp. If you have a problem please notify our staff or another boater that you will be late due to ramp congestion. It is the responsibility of each team to be aware of weigh in times and give yourself plenty of time to get there. Meeting Friday night at 7:00 P.M. to discuss rules and off limits. Also blast off numbers will be drawn.

Faxed entries will be considered official entries and each team is responsible for entry fee.

GOOD LUCK FISHING
